Regional Training Specialist

The Regional Training Representative will be responsible for delivering in-person on-the-job training to Screening Officers, including practical training and refresher courses. This role requires a strong understanding of our training program requirements and guidelines, as well as experience in adult learning and training delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver training sessions to Screening Officers, including practical training and refresher courses.
- Monitor tests and assessments related to our training program.
- Supervise Screening personnel's participation in practical skill development sessions.
- Implement training for new operating procedures and support new hire orientation training.
- Provide recommendations on certification maintenance.
- Develop rapport and credibility within the Screening Officer population to increase the effectiveness of training interactions.
- Demonstrate a positive partnership with our client to support training programs.
- Facilitate refresher sessions, such as reviewing SOP changes, new operational bulletins/advisories, or new screening initiatives.
- Increase screening knowledge by providing specific certification training to the screening personnel population.
- Video briefings on the importance of the Screening Officer role, including events in the past relating to aviation screening.
- Facilitate other material as deemed operationally appropriate for the screening personnel.
- Perform other training team tasks as assigned.
- Travel to airports within the region.
Requirements:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Training and Development.
- Post-secondary education in Adult Learning, Communications, Business Management, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in adult learning and training delivery.
- Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
- Ability to coach, correct, and mentor Screening Officers.
- Ability to pass the Screening Contractor Training Representative course.
- Flexible to work within a 24/7 operation, where schedules could change as per training requirements and operation.
- Strong attention to detail and quality, with the ability to meet competing deadlines.
- Aviation-related experience, including working with various stakeholders within the aviation industry, would be an asset.
- Ability to acquire Transportation Security Clearance (TSC).
- Fluency in French would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Online Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Must be a current resident of Abbotsford or the surrounding area.
Salary: $70,000 - $75,000
This role is fully based at Abbotsford International Airport (YXX), with some travel required to regional airports across BC and Yukon.
As a Regional Training Representative, you will be required to apply for a Transport Security Clearance (TSC), which involves an extensive background check. Once obtained, you will be eligible to begin the Screening Contractor Training Representative course, which must be successfully passed prior to beginning work as a Screening Contractor Training Representative.
