Airport Screening Training Specialist

Role Summary
The Regional Training Representative will be primarily responsible for delivering and managing the training of Screening Officers in accordance with our training program requirements and guidelines. The role will involve various tasks including delivering on-the-job training, monitoring tests and assessments, supervising screening personnel, and providing recommendations on certification maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Training Delivery: Deliver in-person on-the-job training, including but not limited to requisite post-course practical training and refresher courses.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Monitor tests and assessments related to all elements of our training program.
- Supervision and Guidance: Supervise screening personnel's participation in practical skill development sessions.
- Training Support: Hands-on training on screening procedures, implement training for new operating procedures, and support new hire orientation training.
- Certification and Quality Assurance: Provide recommendations on certification maintenance, increase the screening knowledge by providing specific certification training to the screening personnel population, and facilitate refresher sessions.
- Communication and Partnership: Develop rapport and credibility within the Screening Officer population to increase the effectiveness of training interactions, demonstrate positive partnership with our client to support training programs, and facilitate video briefings on the importance of the Screening Officer role.
- Other Responsibilities: Perform other training team tasks as assigned, travel to airports within the region, and ensure the screening personnel population is up-to-date with the latest screening procedures.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Training and Development experience, post-secondary education in Adult Learning, Communications, Business Management, Human Resources, or related field, demonstrated experience in adult learning and training delivery, and excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to coach, correct, and mentor Screening Officers, ability to pass the Screening Contractor Training Representative course, strong attention to detail and quality, ability to meet competing deadlines, flexibility to work within a 24/7 operation, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Preferred Qualifications: Aviation-related experience, including working with various stakeholders within the aviation industry, fluency in French, and experience with Online Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Location
This role is fully based at Abbotsford International Airport (YXX), with some travel required to regional airports across BC and Yukon.
Clearance Requirements
If you are successful in the application process, you will be required to apply for a Transport Security Clearance (TSC), which requires an extensive background check. Once obtained, you will be eligible to begin the Screening Contractor Training Representative course, which must be successfully passed prior to beginning work as a Screening Contractor Training Representative.
