This position is based at Abbotsford International Airport (YXX), with some travel required to regional airports across BC and Yukon. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in training and development, with the ability to effectively deliver training programs to a diverse group of screening officers.
Job OverviewThe Screening Contractor Training Representative will be responsible for the delivery of in-person on-the-job training, including practical training and refresher courses. They will also monitor tests and assessments related to the training program, as well as supervise screening personnel's participation in skill development sessions. Additionally, they will provide recommendations on certification maintenance and develop rapport with the screening officer population.
Responsibilities- Deliver In-Person Training: Provide hands-on training on screening procedures, implement training for new operating procedures, and support new hire orientation training.
- Monitor and Assess: Monitor tests and assessments related to all elements of the training program.
- Supervise Skill Development: Supervise screening personnel's participation in practical skill development sessions.
- Certification Maintenance: Provide recommendations on certification maintenance.
- Rapport Building: Develop rapport and credibility within the screening officer population to increase the effectiveness of training interactions.
- Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in training and development.
- Education: Post-secondary education in adult learning, communications, business management, human resources, or a related field.
- Skills: Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills; ability to coach, correct, and mentor screening officers.
- Clearance: Ability to pass the Screening Contractor Training Representative course and acquire Transportation Security Clearance (TSC).
We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience. This role is fully based at Abbotsford International Airport, with some travel required to regional airports across BC and Yukon. If you are successful in the application process, you will be required to apply for a Transport Security Clearance (TSC). Once obtained, you will be eligible to begin the Screening Contractor Training Representative course, which must be successfully passed prior to beginning work as a Screening Contractor Training Representative.
