Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced RN Emergency Nurse to join our team at St. Paul's Hospital. As a key member of our emergency department, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to the development of our clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans, incorporating evidence-based practices and clinical judgment.
  • Provide direct patient care, including triage, assessment, and treatment, in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care, communicate effectively, and ensure seamless transitions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures, and engage in ongoing education and professional development.
  • Advocate for patients' rights, dignity, and autonomy, promoting a culture of respect and compassion.
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
  • Two years' recent experience working in a tertiary care emergency department and/or two years' recent medical/surgical experience with an approved post-basic emergency nursing specialty program.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
