Heavy Duty Truck Technician

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Truck Technician to join our team at our Vancouver location. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance servicing on commercial transport trucks. Our fleet consists mainly of Class 8 vehicles, including Kenworths, Peterbilts, and Internationals with Paccar engines. Reviewing work orders and evaluating repairs are also essential tasks in this role.

The position reports directly to the Fleet Maintenance Foreman and offers a full-time, permanent opportunity. We offer competitive wages, comprehensive compensation packages, life insurance, RRSP matching, discretionary annual bonuses, and opportunities for career advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service our commercial fleet vehicles (Kenworths, Peterbilts, and Internationals with Paccar engines)
  • Inspect engines in operation, road test vehicles, and test automotive systems and components
  • Use computerized diagnostic and testing devices to accurately diagnose and isolate faults
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions on all preventative maintenance services
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems
  • Review and discuss work orders with supervisors, and sign off repairs performed
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups

Requirements:

  • A valid British Columbia Journeyperson Commercial Transport Vehicle Certificate or an interprovincial Red Seal Certification equivalent
  • Ability to frequently move, carry, lift, push, and pull equipment up to 50 lbs without assistance and occasionally greater with assistance
  • Three years of experience in commercial truck repairs or similar environment/industry

Location: 105 N Commercial Dr, Vancouver, BC V5L 4V7, Canada. Hourly wage range: $60-$90 per hour.
