Your Opportunity:

The Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist I to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care in accordance with our clinical expectation standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage medication therapy for patients, both initially and on an ongoing basis.
  • Assess patients for potential or actual drug-related problems and resolve or prevent drug-related problems to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Participate in patient care rounds and liaise with members of the healthcare team to formulate a medication treatment plan.
  • Document all direct patient care activities in the patient's Health Record and participate in organizational practices, drug stewardship, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain professional development and participate in the precepting and mentoring of other staff and students.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP).
  • Ability to use computer medication order entry systems and access and proficiently use drug information resources and word processing.
  • Fluency in written and verbal English language.
  • Ability to incorporate AHS organizational values into one's work, actions, and decisions.
