About the Role

SickKids Foundation is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial information, including revenue and investments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record and reconcile investment transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Prepare and analyze audit schedules, including reconciliation of investment manager and custodian reports
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank and investment accounts
  • Prepare and analyze audit schedules for annual audits
  • Review and arrange payment of invoices from custodians and investment managers
  • Prepare correspondence to custodians and investment managers, ensuring timely and accurate transactions
  • Process gifts of securities, ensuring accurate paperwork and entries in financial systems
  • Reconcile revenue between multiple platforms and calculate and post funding enhancement initiative monthly
  • Prepare entries to record investment allocation and payout for endowment funds quarterly
  • Participate in process mapping and improvement initiatives, suggesting and implementing changes as approved

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent experience in finance or accounting
  • Knowledge of investment markets and charitable sector accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with expertise in Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills, with experience with Raiser's Edge/Blackbaud CRM and Financial Edge
