RSM is seeking a highly skilled Director to join our Accounting and Finance Consulting (AFC) practice, focusing on complex IFRS engagements. With over 80 years of industry expertise, we have helped thousands of firms achieve their business objectives.



As a Director, you will manage multiple concurrent engagements, providing technical accounting and financial or business advisory guidance to clients. You will demonstrate intermediate to advanced knowledge of complex accounting concepts and collaborate directly with firm specialists/subject matter experts on complex accounting matters.



Key responsibilities include:




  • Managing multiple concurrent engagements within the AFC practice
  • Demonstrating intermediate to advanced knowledge of complex accounting concepts
  • Providing timely, high-quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations
  • Collaborating directly with firm specialists/subject matter experts on complex accounting matters
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical memos and other client deliverables
  • Managing TAC engagements and engagement teams
  • Overseeing engagement economics and managing appropriate resources for efficient engagement models
  • Anticipating and addressing client concerns and escalating issues as they arise
  • Understanding RSM's service lines and working as a team in providing an integrated service delivery
  • Developing others within the TAC practice through mentoring, training, and advising on career development
  • Understanding RSM's lines of businesses, availability of services, and discussing with client management opportunities to make valuable introductions to others in the firm
  • Working with the National Leader on 'go to market' strategy, participating in proposals, pitch meetings, and developing marketing collateral
  • Developing a strategy to utilize relationships external to the firm with different types of Centers of Influence to effectuate business growth
  • Subscribing to and actively reading industry publications and sharing relevant information with clients as considered applicable
  • Ensuring professional development through ongoing education
  • Willingness to travel 25% or less of the year, depending on clients


Required qualifications include:




  • BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
  • 7+ years of current or recent experience in a public accounting, financial reporting, or technical accounting capacity
  • Excellent team and project management skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of audit services with knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and FASB regulations
  • A proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships
  • A successful record of directing and deploying staff senior associates/supervisors, managers on multiple, simultaneous engagements


Preferred qualifications include:




  • Experience in leading project teams for global organizations related to one or more of the following areas: accounting and finance optimization, audit readiness, complex accounting analysis and consultation, new accounting standard implementation
