Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the product category strategy for energy solutions, driving sales growth, market share expansion, and profitability improvement.
  • Establish and execute annual and long-term strategic plans, setting objectives, leveraging consumer insights, and allocating resources across the product portfolio.
  • Define product requirements and refine them based on customer feedback, market developments, and upcoming regulations/incentives.
  • Uncover markets where Generac can uniquely win and craft BESS (and multi-asset site) solutions to target these markets.
  • Manage overall product lifecycle, including phase in/out timing and product/platform rationalization decisions.
  • Develop business cases for new product development programs and establish strategy, vision, goals, and positioning for each product category.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in engineering, business, or marketing.
  • 4+ years of management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineering Designation (P.Eng.).
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Prior experience managing hardware and software offerings.
  • Experience with P&L management.
  • Experience working in a technically-driven environment in the manufacturing sector.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance such as UL 1741, UL 9540, UL 9540A, NFPA 855, NFPA 68, NFPA 69, NFPA 70, DER interconnect standards, and generally with UL, NFPA, CSA, FCC, and IEC standards governing energy storage systems.
Essential Skills:
  • Strong understanding of product design, electrical systems integration, and manufacturing support.
  • Hands-on involvement with troubleshooting, testing, and validating AC/DC electrical systems.
  • Technical depth and communications skills needed to gather use cases, voice of customer, and personas that will translate into requirements the development team will execute against.
  • Comprehension of market data and leading technical indicators to drive decisions or strategic proposals preparing the organization for technology leadership.
Physical Demands:

The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel may be required.
