Outhire Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Controller of Operations to join their team in Toronto, ON.
Compensation: The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 based on industry standards and the location.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive financial management solution to non-profit organizations across North America. As a Controller of Operations, you will oversee the entire finance department, including hands-on full-cycle accounting, process improvement, and internal controls setup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Implement project management systems and workflows using Asana, establish clear processes for file review and quality control, develop standardized procedures for monthly close and reporting, and provide hands-on expertise in challenging situations.
- Financial Review & Control: Oversee monthly financial statement preparation for 30+ clients, review and approve all client deliverables, ensure timely completion of bank reconciliations and monthly closes, and maintain high accuracy levels.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement standardized workflows, create internal controls and documentation, optimize QuickBooks Online setup and usage, and continuously improve financial management practices.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of accounting experience with a strong background in non-profit accounting (ASNPO).
- Advanced QuickBooks Online expertise and proficiency in process improvement methodologies.
- CPA designation is highly preferred but not mandatory.
