About the Role

The Government of Alberta is currently seeking applications for the position of Justice of the Peace, offering a challenging and rewarding career opportunity for qualified lawyers.

As a full-time or part-time Justice of the Peace, you will be responsible for presiding over various legal proceedings in the province, providing fair and impartial justice to the public.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preside over court hearings and make decisions based on evidence presented
  • Interpret and apply relevant laws and regulations
  • Manage courtroom proceedings, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of cases

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian citizen and a member in good standing of the Law Society of Alberta
  • Minimum of five years of related experience at the Bar
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
