Job Title: Signal and Communication Foreperson

We are currently seeking a qualified Signal and Communication Foreperson located in Western Canada for our 2024 maintenance and construction season. As an S&C Construction Foreperson, you will work as part of a team performing moderate to heavy physical labor installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing railroad signaling and communications equipment as well as responding to emergencies and track outages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with all Remcan and customer safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of railway industry and signal operations.
  • Work unsupervised as well as in teams.
  • Work various shifts as required, including weekends and night shifts.
  • Work in various weather conditions all year round.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to remote work locations as required.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' rail experience installing and/or maintaining S&C systems.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical fundamentals – Electrical Technician diploma is an asset.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment on-and-off track is an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 or Class G driver's license and ability to produce a driver's abstract.
  • Knowledge of and recent qualification in Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR).
  • Must pass eRailSafe Canada certification.
  • Able to pass pre-employment medical which includes drug and alcohol screening.
