The Diversified Analog Solutions team in Ottawa has a challenging opportunity for a University Student available for a 12 month work term. The successful candidate will report to a senior engineering mentor assigned to them. They will apply sound engineering skills to a variety of tasks and project assignments in the area of electronics, design engineering, and semiconductor component test development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the research and development of advanced RF integrated circuits and modules in the area of wireless technology.
  • Conduct lab tests on RF circuits, present, and interpret measurement data. The role may also involve circuit design/simulation, presenting design expectations/results, and participating in design reviews.
  • Assist in new product engineering and design activities.
  • Support full-time engineering group members with their project assignments.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must be currently enrolled in an MS or PhD Electrical Engineering (or related) degree program.
  • Experience with RF lab equipment, including oscilloscope, signal generator, spectrum/signal analyzer, VNA, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of RF/analog circuits and principles.
  • Solid understanding of S-parameters and electromagnetics.
  • Familiarity with ADS, Cadence, or similar simulation tools. Familiarity with electromagnetic simulation tools such as ADS Momentum/EMX/HFSS.
  • Basics familiarity with RF circuit blocks, such as PAs, LNAs, switches, etc.
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Must be willing to work in a hands-on environment.
  • Must have strong time management skills.
  • Good communication, organization, and documentation skills.

The estimated salary range for this internship is CAD $25-$44 per hour, depending on level of education and job duties.
