Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled LAN (Local Area Network) Technician to join our team at 1722025 ALBERTA LTD. as a Network Infrastructure Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering local area networks, wide area networks, mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Administration: Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide problem-solving services to network users, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal network performance.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures to protect network assets and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Backup and Recovery: Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity.
  • Network Setup and Configuration: Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet, ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance.
  • Network Monitoring and Optimization: Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Web Development and Maintenance: Modify Web pages, applets, and scripts to ensure a secure and user-friendly online experience.
  • Research and Development: Research and apply meta-data to Websites and register Websites with search engines to improve online visibility.
  • Customer Support: Respond to requests for help and information from Website visitors and Website designers, providing timely and effective support.
  • Backup and Recovery: Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations to ensure business continuity.
  • Technical Advice: Provide technical and professional advice to colleagues and stakeholders, ensuring optimal network performance and security.
Requirements
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficiency in Linux, networking software, networking hardware, networking security, extranet, Internet, servers, MS Office, and spreadsheet software.
  • Security and Safety: Ability to pass a criminal record check.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with physically demanding tasks, and attention to detail.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, initiative, judgement, organized, team player, and dedication.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week.
