Network Administrator Overview

The role of a Network Administrator is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of computer networks. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, along with 1 to 2 years of relevant work experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee, troubleshoot, and manage local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and associated computer workstations and peripherals.
  • Deliver effective problem-solving support to network users.
  • Establish and enforce data, software, and hardware security protocols.
  • Conduct data backups and implement disaster recovery strategies.
  • Configure local area networks and ensure Internet connectivity.
  • Utilize network traffic and security monitoring tools to enhance server performance.
  • Modify web pages, applets, and scripts as necessary.
  • Research and apply meta-data to websites and facilitate their registration with search engines.
  • Address inquiries and provide assistance to website visitors and designers.
  • Execute web server backup and recovery tasks.
  • Offer technical and professional guidance as needed.
Technical Expertise
  • Proficient in Linux and various networking software and hardware.
  • Knowledgeable in networking security measures.
  • Familiar with extranet and Internet protocols.
  • Experienced with server management and MS Office applications.
  • Understanding of spreadsheet software and firewall configurations.
  • Competent in utilizing social media tools.
