Job Title: LAN (Local Area Network) Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled LAN Technician to join our team at SURESTAY PLUS BY BEST WESTERN BROOKS. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and administering local area networks, wide area networks, mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and troubleshoot LANs, WANs, mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment
  • Provide problem-solving services to network users
  • Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet
  • Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance
  • Modify Web pages, applets, and scripts
  • Research and apply meta-data to Websites and register Websites with search engines
  • Respond to requests for help and information from Website visitors and Website designers
  • Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations
  • Provide technical and professional advice
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in LAN administration and maintenance
  • Equivalent experience in a related field
  • Strong knowledge of Linux, networking software, and hardware
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical stamina to work in a physically demanding environment
