Job Summary:

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to the Community Health site. This role involves providing reception services, general office duties, records maintenance, and other duties as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the Community Health site, including reception services and general office duties.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files.
  • Perform data entry and compile statistics as required.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, patients, and other stakeholders.
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and methods.
  • Ensure confidentiality and maintain the integrity of sensitive information.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both official languages (English/French) is essential.
  • Administrative Secretary course from a recognized education institution or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • A minimum of two years related experience.
  • Experience maintaining records, data entry, and compiling statistics.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including a courteous telephone manner.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and effective organizational skills.
  • Team player with ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Knowledge of PHIA, privacy laws, regulations, and standard procedures.
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality, including paper or electronic formats and other mediums.
  • Good work and attendance record.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate.
  • All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy.
  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
