About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Event Planning Specialist to join our team at Mount Alverno Resort and Retreat. As an Event Planning Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing various events, conferences, and meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management
    • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements
    • Prepare, present, and manage budgets for events and conferences
    • Develop financial procedures and policies
  • Event Coordination
    • Co-ordinate and monitor conference and meeting activities
    • Attend to related details, such as set-ups, staging, seating, parking, and communication systems
    • Plan and arrange for accommodation and transportation services
  • Logistics and Operations
    • Co-ordinate and manage contracts for hospitality services, signage, multi-media equipment, printing, and other technical services
    • Plan and arrange for social events and guest programs
    • Develop policies and procedures for event management
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Develop registration systems and information materials
    • Plan for traffic and crowd control and security
    • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure successful event execution
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in event planning, coordination, or a related field
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong organizational and time management skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Proficiency in MS Office, including Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
Work Environment

As an Event Planning Specialist at Mount Alverno Resort and Retreat, you will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. You will be required to work independently and as part of a team to ensure successful event execution.
