Job Title: Executive Chef Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and skilled Executive Chef Assistant to join our team at The Tapa Bar / Bodega Bar Poco.

About the Role

This is a permanent position that requires a highly organized and efficient individual who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As an Executive Chef Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency across all our establishments.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work well under pressure, and possess a strong attention to detail. If you are a motivated and enthusiastic professional looking for a new challenge, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory levels to ensure maximum efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Assist in analyzing operating costs and other data to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase profitability.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to our culinary team, ensuring they are up-to-date with the latest trends and innovations.
  • Supervise the activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to maintain a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions, ensuring consistently high-quality dishes.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies in a timely manner to prevent stock shortages and delays.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan menus that meet the highest quality standards and cater to diverse customer preferences.
  • Train and develop the skills of our culinary team members, focusing on preparation, cooking, and handling of food.
  • Work Term: Permanent.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 32 to 40 hours per week.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus additional benefits including health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for career advancement.
