Software Development Manager, RDS Open Source Database Engines

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Manager to lead our RDS Open Source Database Engines team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for designing and architecting new and existing systems, leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services, and partnering with product or program management teams to collect requirements and describe software product features.
Key Responsibilities- Design and architect new and existing systems to meet the demands of our customers
- Lead the definition and development of multi-tier web services
- Partner with product or program management teams to collect requirements and describe software product features
- Communicate with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements and describe software product features
- Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of Software Engineers

CompensationThe base salary for this position ranges from $171,400/year up to $286,200/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
