Software Development Manager, RDS Open Source Database Engines

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Manager to lead our RDS Open Source Database Engines team. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for designing and architecting new and existing systems, leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services, and partnering with product or program management teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the engineering organization to meet the demands of our customers, scaling the team to handle the next order of magnitude in service scale.
- Design and architect systems of scale, ensuring reliability and high availability.
- Partner with product or program management teams to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
- Communicate with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements and describe software product features.
- Recruit, hire, mentor, and manage teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective.
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience.
- 3+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience.
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience.
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle.

What We OfferBase salary for this position ranges from $171,400/year up to $286,200/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company, offering a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, including equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation.
