Job Summary

The University of British Columbia is seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant to join its Strategy and Decision Support team. As a key member of this team, you will play a critical role in providing strategic insight and capabilities to enable the University to identify and realize major opportunities and tackle significant challenges.

As a Senior Consultant, you will collaborate with UBC partners to realize the University's vision, providing a suite of in-house advisory services to UBC Faculties and Administration in strategy development and integration, financial health, and operational effectiveness. You will concentrate on focused pieces of work to answer strategic questions, identify solutions to complex problems, and provide advice on how to confront complex challenges.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic planning, business strategy, and financial analysis, with experience in managing and leading strategic initiatives and projects. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the University.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve University goals and objectives
  • Provide financial analysis and modeling to support strategic decision making
  • Collaborate with UBC partners to develop and implement business process improvements
  • Lead and manage strategic initiatives and projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the University

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline, such as business administration, economics, or finance
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a related field, with a strong background in strategic planning, business strategy, and financial analysis
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the University
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications, such as CPA or CMA
  • Experience in financial modeling and business process improvement
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and financial instruments
