Job Summary

The Barback is a key member of our hospitality team, responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests while working closely with our bartenders to ensure a seamless and enjoyable experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Restock liquor bottles and supplies in accordance with daily requisition sheets
  • Assist in preparation for daily service, including cutting fruit and preparing syrups
  • Stock and maintain inventory of bar supplies, including straws, cups, napkins, ice, and cleaning supplies
  • Work collaboratively with the bar team to ensure the bar area is well-stocked and organized
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area during service, including monitoring and addressing any spills or messes
  • Remove and dispose of trash receptacles in and around the bar area
  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness in fan areas
  • Perform general cleaning tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager to adhere to health standards
  • Complete closing duties, including storing goods, restocking supplies, and disposing of empty bottles
  • Perform additional tasks as needed and requested
  • Mop the bar floor as needed
  • Assist with opening and closing inventory counts
  • Provide exceptional guest service, answering questions and addressing concerns with the help of colleagues and other staff members
  • Work collaboratively as a team to provide a positive and welcoming experience for our guests
  • Ensure a high level of attention to detail and multitasking skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities

Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 education and 1-year related work experience
  • Good working knowledge of English (written and verbal)
  • Smart Serve Certification
  • Knowledge of wine, beer, and cocktails
  • Emotionally mature, respectful, and sincere
  • Well-groomed and courteous
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain calm under pressure
  • Understanding of company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Working Conditions

The physical demands of this role require the ability to sit, talk, hear, use hands to finger and handle controls, reach with hands and arms, stand, walk, and stoop. Specific vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
