POSITION OVERVIEW

The Bar Support Staff plays a crucial role in assisting Bartenders by ensuring the bar is well-stocked, organized, and prepared for optimal service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Replenishing liquor supplies according to daily inventory requests.
  • Assisting with preparation tasks for daily operations (e.g., slicing fruit, making syrups).
  • Stocking essential items such as straws, disposable cups, napkins, ice, and cleaning materials.
  • Collaborating with the bar team to maintain a well-equipped and efficient workspace.
  • Overseeing cleanliness and organization of the bar area during service hours.
  • Addressing urgent situations at the bar, including broken glass, clogged drains, and spills.
  • Managing waste disposal in and around the bar area.
  • Contributing to the cleanliness of guest areas.
  • Executing general cleaning tasks as directed by supervisors to meet health standards.
  • Completing closing tasks as assigned, including proper storage of goods and restocking for future service.
  • Performing additional tasks as required.
  • Mopping the bar floor as necessary.
  • Assisting with opening and closing inventory checks.
  • Responding to guest inquiries and concerns with support from fellow staff and security personnel.
  • Working collaboratively with team members to provide excellent service.
  • Maintaining a friendly demeanor and engaging with every guest.
  • Organizing the disposal of garbage, cardboard, and empty beverage containers.
  • Undertaking any other responsibilities assigned by management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties at a high standard. The following qualifications are necessary:

  • Completion of Grade 12 education and at least one year of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in English (both written and verbal).
  • Smart Serve Certification is required.
  • Knowledge of wines, beers, and cocktails is essential.
  • Must exhibit emotional maturity, respectfulness, and sincerity.
  • Well-groomed and courteous demeanor is expected.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and remain composed under pressure.
  • Familiarity with all policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
  • Enjoyment in engaging with people.
  • Previous guest service experience is preferred.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Location: On Site

While fulfilling job duties, employees are regularly required to sit, talk, and hear; use hands for handling controls; and frequently reach with hands and arms. Employees must be able to stand, walk, and bend. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
