Altis Recruitment is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to support our client's Central Pharmaceutical Services team. This role involves providing assistance to a wide network of Pharmacy departments from a central head-quartered location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure accurate dispensing of prescription medications, adhering to proper procedures for storage, handling, and disposal of medications and supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, utilizing pharmacy software and systems to enter and retrieve patient and prescription information, process orders, and maintain accurate records.
- Prepare and package medications, including compounding creams, ointments, and other specialized formulations as directed by the pharmacist.
- Perform medication inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and rotating stock to ensure medication freshness.
- Work collaboratively with the pharmacy team to ensure efficient workflow, accurate prescription processing, and timely medication dispensing.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, staying current with industry trends, new medications, and advancements in pharmacy practice.
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience with high-volume filling environments is an asset.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Registration as a Registered Technician and in Good Standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
