Job SummaryThe successful candidate will assist with various tasks, including customer service, medication preparation, inventory management, and administrative duties. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals seeking to gain experience in the healthcare industry while contributing to the efficient operation of the pharmacy.
Responsibilities:- Customer Service: Provide courteous and professional assistance to customers, respond to inquiries about medications and pharmacy services, and greet customers in a friendly manner.
- Patient Care: Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services, including data entry, labeling, and packaging under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician.
- Inventory Management: Receive, unpack, and stock incoming shipments of medications and supplies, monitor inventory levels, conduct stock rotations, and assist with inventory audits as needed.
- Administrative Support: Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents, process insurance claims, and coordinate prescription transfers as required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, completion of a pharmacy assistant program or relevant healthcare certification preferred.
- Experience: Prior experience in a retail or healthcare setting advantageous, but not required; on-the-job training provided.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks such as medication counting and labeling.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with pharmacy staff and contribute to a positive team environment.
This is a full-time position, with standard work hours typically ranging from 32-40 hours per week, including weekends, Monday-Friday. The position may require standing for extended periods and occasional lifting/moving of moderate-weight boxes or containers.
