About the Role

The Mental Health Clinician plays a vital role in our interdisciplinary crisis intervention and stabilization team. As a fully contributing member, you will provide specialized mental health assessment and consultation services to clients experiencing acute mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct mental health assessments to inform treatment planning and contribute to a mental health diagnosis
  • Provide mental health assessments, therapeutic interventions, referrals, and advocacy
  • Work closely with psychiatric emergency staff and community partners to ensure stabilization of immediate crisis and facilitate post-crisis treatment services
  • Provide psychological first aid and stepped care responses in disaster or mass casualty events
  • Contribute to patient care planning and clinical decision-making related to psychosocial factors, barriers, and dynamics
Requirements
  • Completion of a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or a related field
  • Active or eligible registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college
  • Minimum 4 years of crisis assessment and stabilization experience in an Addiction and Mental Health community setting
  • Training in Psychological First Aid and critical incident stress management
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary community health team
