Mental Health Nurse

The Trauma program at CASA Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, trauma-focused care to children, youth, and families in Calgary.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments to identify mental health concerns and current risk factors.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to promote, maintain, and restore health.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and care teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Provide education and support to patients and families to enhance their understanding of mental health conditions and treatment options.
- Participate in group therapy and other interventions to promote healing and recovery.
- Document patient information accurately and efficiently in our electronic medical record system.
- Liaise with other professionals to promote continuity of care and facilitate connections to community resources.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Minimum three to five years of recent pediatric experience in an ambulatory care setting, with a focus on mental health care.
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and standards of practice.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing quality improvement and professional development.
- Satisfactory Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or exemption on the basis of a protected legal ground.
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification.
