Oncology Nurse II Position

CancerCare Manitoba is a provincial agency that provides clinical and academic services and leadership for cancer control and the treatment of blood disorders. Our shared vision of a world free of cancer drives every member of our team. We are seeking a skilled Oncology Nurse II to join our team at the Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide holistic cancer care to patients in the ambulatory setting, including assessment, intervention, treatment administration, and coordination of care.
- Participate in patient/family education and make pertinent nursing assessments.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team and provide appropriate interventions.
- Work with cytotoxic and hazardous medications on a regular basis, using personal protective equipment (PPE) and training provided.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or will be within 6 weeks.
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- Knowledge of the Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses and the Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
- Proficient with computers, software programs, and applications such as MS Windows/Word/Outlook.
- Satisfactory employment record.
- Ability to legally work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Nursing.
- Three (3) years' experience in medical/surgical or ambulatory care settings.
- Knowledge and experience with oncology.
- Experience with electronic charting.
- Ability to speak French.
Asset Qualifications:
- Certified Oncology Nurse [CON(C)].
- Knowledge and experience with wound care.
- Knowledge and experience with patients receiving radiation therapy.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Leadership.
