About the Role

CWB Financial Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mortgage Underwriting Manager to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of underwriters, managing mortgage loan operation volume and compliance for insured and conventional mortgages, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of underwriters to achieve performance goals and exceed service level agreements
  • Manage mortgage loan operation volume and compliance for insured and conventional mortgages
  • Collaborate with teams to provide excellent customer service, fair adjudication, and strong communication
  • Identify and implement internal refinance strategies and programs to increase the annual amount of refinanced funds
  • Underwrite, price, and set terms and conditions for conventional and high-ratio, Alt-A caliber, and A caliber residential mortgage applications
  • Provide formal and informal coaching/mentorship to team members and develop their sales, service, and underwriting skills
Requirements
  • Diploma in business or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 7 years of financial experience, including 3 years of leadership experience in the financial services industry and 2 years of residential mortgage underwriting experience
  • Experience with a variety of mortgage products, including conventional mortgages, high-ratio insured mortgages, and HELOC products
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop employees in a positive and highly effective team environment
  • Solid understanding of CWBFG lending protocols and required operational procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
