Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled GIS Technician to join our team at the Alberta Snowmobile Association. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating maps and related graphs and charts, planning map content, and maintaining digital databases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate maps and related graphs and charts using geographic information systems software
  • Plan map content, format, and design, and compile required data from aerial photographs, survey notes, records, and other maps
  • Maintain and manage digital databases, including climatological databases and atmospheric and weather information
  • Operate analog or digital airborne remote sensing equipment to prepare images, data, and graphic reports, maps, and charts
  • Perform data entry and verify accuracy and completeness of data
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a team of professionals. The position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field
