This role at Alberta Health Services offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals, families, and communities.

As a Mental Health Clinician, you will be part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, delivering care to those who need it most. Your responsibilities will include client intake, clinical interviews, and screening for addiction and mental health disorders.

You will have the opportunity to participate in program planning, development, and supervision of practicum students. This position is open to Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologists, and Registered Occupational Therapists.

We are seeking an individual with expert knowledge of co-occurring health needs (addiction and mental health) and experience using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V).

A master's degree in psychology or a related field is required, along with active registration with the applicable Alberta regulatory college.

Requirements
  • Expert knowledge of co-occurring health needs (addiction and mental health)
  • Knowledge and experience using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-V)
  • Current Heart and Stroke Foundation (HSF) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
  • Employer-provided training in Suicide Risk Management
  • Employer-provided training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
  • 3-5 years' experience working with vulnerable populations, including those with addiction and mental health concerns
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply the principles of trauma-informed care

In return for your dedication and expertise, we offer a competitive salary range of $95,000 - $110,000 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
