Executive Director Position

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Executive Director to lead our organization, promoting understanding and acceptance of individuals with learning disabilities in New Brunswick.

About the Role

This is a full-time position with a two-year contract, renewable annually. The successful candidate will be responsible for networking, advocacy, and program development to advance our mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network with organizations, governments, and stakeholders to secure funding and support.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans in collaboration with our Board of Directors.
  • Fundraise through events and grant writing, as well as securing corporate support.
  • Supervise a small office, establishing clear roles, performance standards, and providing training opportunities.
  • Maintain financial and project files, and provide regular impact statements.
  • Advocate for individuals with learning disabilities and increase public awareness through partnerships with national and provincial LD organizations.
  • Research and develop programs and services based on best practices, current trends, and member needs.

Requirements

  • An undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Human Services Administration, Public Relations, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a non-profit organization or administrative role, including supervising staff and volunteers, and working with a Board of Directors.
  • Proven strengths in financial management, budgeting, and fund development.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop operating plans.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills in both official languages is an asset.
  • Able to work collaboratively with other organizations and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability in public speaking, written and oral communication, and interpersonal relations.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and Simply Account software.

Compensation

The salary range is $55,000 – $65,000 plus benefits. Preference will be given to those with a minimum of two years experience working in a private and/or non-profit sector.
