Job Title: Reading Recovery Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Reading Recovery Teacher to join our team at School District #60 (Peace River North). As a Reading Recovery Teacher, you will play a critical role in supporting the literacy development of our students.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Reading Recovery instruction to students in need of additional support. This will involve working closely with classroom teachers, school administrators, and other support staff to ensure that students receive the best possible education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Reading Recovery instruction to students in need of additional support
  • Work closely with classroom teachers, school administrators, and other support staff to ensure that students receive the best possible education
  • Develop and implement individualized literacy plans for students
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress
Requirements:
  • Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate
  • Reading Recovery Teacher Certificate (or willingness to train)
  • Strong understanding of literacy acquisition and the importance of using all available teaching time for assessment, selection, and instruction
  • Ability to administer, analyze, and summarize data from the Observation of Early Literacy Achievement and Daily Running Records
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
