Nurse in Anaesthetic Recovery Position

As a Registered Nurse in our Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU) at Royal Columbian Hospital, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered care to patients recovering from anaesthetics. Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care, and we are seeking a skilled nurse to join us in this dynamic environment.
Salary
We offer a competitive salary range of CAD $41.42 - $59.52 per hour, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
Job Description
As a PACU nurse, you will be responsible for assessing post-anaesthetic patients, making nursing diagnoses, and determining the most effective interventions to promote their recovery. Your duties will include:
• Assessing patients' critical care needs and providing care accordingly
• Initiating immediate treatment if required and modifying care as needed
• Collaborating with interprofessional healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
• Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
• One year of recent clinical nursing experience in a designated clinical area, preferably in the PACU or a similar setting
• Strong clinical proficiency, particularly in initiating and maintaining intravenous therapy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to recognize acuity changes, determine emergency situations, and prioritize tasks accordingly
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
