About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for flying fixed-wing aircraft or helicopters, monitoring the operation of engines and aircraft systems during flight, and coordinating flight activities with ground crews and air-traffic control.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Flying fixed-wing aircraft or helicopters to conduct aerial surveys, crop dusting and spraying, and forest firefighting operations;
  • Maintaining communications with flight dispatchers and weather forecasters to ensure safe and efficient flights;
  • Responding to and reporting in-flight emergencies and malfunctions;
  • Conducting pre- and post-flight inspections to ensure the airworthiness of the aircraft;

The ideal candidate will have a Commercial Pilot Licence - fixed wing, specialized environmental skills and knowledge, and excellent oral communication skills.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Commercial Pilot Licence - fixed wing;
  • Specialized environmental skills and knowledge;
  • Excellent oral communication skills;
  • Ability to work outdoors, at heights, and in various weather conditions;
  • Fast-paced environment and willingness to work under pressure;
  • Reliability, judgement, initiative, flexibility, and efficiency.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of CAD $60,000 per year, as well as benefits including dental plan, disability benefits, health care plan, vision care benefits, group insurance benefits, life insurance, pension plan, free parking, learning/training paid by employer, on-site amenities, paid time off (volunteering or personal days), team building opportunities, travel insurance, and variable or compressed work week.

Estimate Salary Range: CAD $55,000 - CAD $70,000 per year
