Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Service Director to oversee the daily clinical service delivery and environmental/operational issues in a designated service area. The successful candidate will provide guidance to social workers through clinical leadership, mentoring, supervision, education, evaluation, and research.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily clinical service delivery and environmental/operational issues in a designated service area.
- Provide guidance to social workers through clinical leadership, mentoring, supervision, education, evaluation, and research.
- Contribute to the delivery of quality social work services by examining, developing, refining, and evaluating the body of knowledge and clinical practices.
- Assist in recruitment and coordinating clinical work schedules, caseloads, and service rotations.
- Maintain a partial clinical caseload involving social work assessment, interventions, and follow-up within established standards of practice.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recent social work experience in a health setting with at least one year in the designated service area.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from a Canadian Association for Social Work Education (CASWE), or an approved equivalent if internationally educated.
- Post-graduate training in specialized clinical services is preferred.
- Successful completion of relevant continuing professional education in designated clinical areas and in management is preferred.
Compensation
The estimated salary for this position is between $74,578 and $83,461 per year, based on the title, job description, and location. This amount may vary depending on individual factors such as experience and qualifications.
About the Role
This role requires strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities, as well as the ability to initiate and support change. The successful candidate will be able to work cooperatively with other disciplines and demonstrate professional judgment and initiative.
Physical Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods without resting. They may be required to work evenings or weekends and occasionally work extended hours. The role may also involve exposure to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress, and encountering aggressive and/or agitated clients/visitors/staff.
