Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join our team at LAPRAIRIE Group of Companies. As a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting heavy equipment and vehicles to identify potential issues and perform routine maintenance.
  • Diagnosing complex problems using computerized testing equipment and technical knowledge.
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts, and performing adjustments as needed.
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty and automotive vehicles.
  • Repairing and servicing machine attachments, and performing major repair work when necessary.
  • Driving to various job sites and consulting with other Mechanics and Supervisors as needed.

Requirements:

  • Trade Certification/Red Seal as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or in a registered trade program.
  • 2 or more years of experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic or a similar role.
  • Must have a Class 5 driver's license.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a CVIP license.
  • Proven work experience with diesel or heavy equipment.
  • Understanding of computer testing technologies.
  • Ability to lift heavy machinery.
  • Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment.
  • Ability to work after-hours if required.
  • Good communication skills.
