Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy-Duty Mechanic to join our team at LAPRAIRIE Group of Companies. As a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting and testing heavy equipment and vehicles to identify faults and areas for improvement.
  • Diagnosing complex mechanical issues using computerized testing equipment and technical knowledge.
  • Performing repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment and vehicles, including replacing parts and adjusting equipment.
  • Conducting routine services and cleaning of heavy-duty and automotive vehicles.
  • Repairing and servicing machine attachments and performing major repair work when necessary.
  • Driving to various job sites and consulting with other Mechanics and Supervisors as needed.

Requirements:

  • Trade Certification/Red Seal as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or in a registered trade program.
  • 2 or more years of experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic or a similar role.
  • Class 5 driver's license and preference for CVIP license.
  • Proven work experience with diesel or heavy equipment and understanding of computer testing technologies.
  • Ability to lift heavy machinery and extensive knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic & electrical systems, and construction equipment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work after-hours if required.
