Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Duty Journeyman Mechanic to join our team at Vertex. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections on heavy truck and trailer equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy truck and trailer equipment, including engine, drive train, wiring, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify and diagnose issues, and implement repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Complete required documentation and reporting for inspections and repairs, and prepare work orders and cost estimates for service approval.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless maintenance operations and efficient use of resources.
Requirements
  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeymen certificate
  • Red Seal certification is considered an asset
  • Ability to complete a CVIP inspection
  • 4-6 years' experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, preferably with semi-truck and trailer experience (hydraulic repairs and diesel engine repair)
  • Class 5 License with a clean drivers' abstract
  • Ability to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
  • Current and up to date first-aid and H2S alive safety certificates is an asset
  • A valid class 1 or 3 drivers' license is considered an asset
