Resort Manager Position in a Rural Area

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Resort Manager to join our team at the Government of Canada - Western.
About the Role:
The Resort Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the resort, including supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for efficient resort operations
- Recruit, hire, and train staff members to meet the needs of the resort
- Conduct performance reviews to ensure staff are meeting expectations
- Negotiate with suppliers for materials and services
- Perform front desk duties, including check-in and check-out processes
- Prepare and manage budgets to ensure financial stability
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers
- Implement maintenance activities to maintain the resort's facilities
- Enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance
- Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional manner
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in hospitality or a related field
- 2-3 years of experience in a management position
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
- Familiarity with central reservation systems and point of sale systems
Benefits:
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Additional benefits include:

Working Conditions:
This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure. You will also need to stand for extended periods and have excellent attention to detail.
