Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to join our team at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our cloud engineering group, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and operating cutting-edge cloud platforms that drive business innovation and customer satisfaction.

About the Role
In this exciting opportunity, you will be responsible for building and maintaining large-scale cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver cloud-based solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients and businesses. Your expertise will be invaluable in shaping our cloud strategy and driving digital transformation within the organization.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud architectures that meet business requirements and adhere to industry standards.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud services and applications.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Terraform and Ansible to ensure consistency and efficiency in cloud deployments.
  • Analyze system performance and identify areas for improvement, implementing optimizations as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for cloud-based systems and services.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge to promote skills growth and development within the team.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud computing, with expertise in RedHat OpenShift Container Platform or other enterprise Kubernetes platforms.
  • Proven track record of delivering large-scale cloud projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and compliance regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Certification in cloud computing (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or DevOps (e.g., Certified Scrum Master).
  • Familiarity with API documentation tools (Swagger, RAML) and networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS).
  • Experience with monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana) and logging solutions (ELK, Splunk).
