Job Summary

The Halton Catholic District School Board is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to provide coverage to elementary school sites in Kindergarten. As a Designated Early Childhood Educator, you will work collaboratively with the classroom teacher to implement a play-based program based on the Four Frames, enhancing the children's cognitive, language, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement a play-based program based on the Four Frames in collaboration with the classroom teacher.
  • Work with the classroom teacher to develop and implement a curriculum that meets the needs of Kindergarten students.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, teachers, and parents as needed.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
  • Two-year Community College Early Childhood Education Diploma.
  • Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Valid certificate in First Aid and CPR.
  • Knowledge of the Kindergarten Program Document, 2016.
  • Experience in planning, documenting, and implementing a play/inquiry-based program.
  • Ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff, and the community.
  • Proven ability to deal with classroom management, stressful, and emergency situations in a calm professional manner.
  • Strong computer, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to physically lift up to 50 pounds and provide assistance and/or supervision as it relates to toileting.
