Executive Director of Operations

The RoleWe are seeking a proven leader with excellent communication skills and a background in sales, inventory control, and people management to fill the position of Executive Director of Operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the overall operation of our company in Duncan and Courtney, BC.
Your primary objectives will include:
- Maintaining strong business acumen and leveraging above-average emotional intelligence to inspire a collaborative, accountable, and performance-driven culture.
- Monitoring inventory levels and customer profitability, while being a proven sales leader with exceptional people skills.
- Fostering a sales culture that values transparency, accountability, excellence, customer service, and customer satisfaction.
- Holding people accountable, providing coaching and training to employees when needed, reading people below the surface.
- Maintaining consistent interaction with the team, evaluating ongoing employee performance, and coordinating annual review and appraisal programs.
- Setting expectations for the team and gaining buy-in for continually improving systems and processes, ability to get things done in order of priority.
- Demonstrating confidence when making decisions with a proven aptitude for being detail-oriented.
- Understanding the ERP system, analyzing productivity, and setting performance goals that meet revenue and cost targets.
- Overseeing and implementing an inventory strategy that meets seasonal demands.
- Leading the development and implementation of distribution practices, focusing on continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A 5-10 year track record of success with progressive career experience within a distribution environment.
- A hands-on leadership approach with 5+ years in a leadership role, excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
- An entrepreneurial spirit, being ambitious and competitive, demonstrating energy and a sense of urgency in executing day-to-day responsibilities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of operations including finance, sales, inventory management, and human resources, a true generalist.
- Superior excel skills, comfortable with pivot tables, able to analyze, interpret, and act on data gathered from the ERP system.
- Strong negotiation and follow-up skills, attending to the needs of the customer.
- A natural relationship builder who brings creative thinking and a can-do attitude.
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
$85,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
