Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist works collaboratively with clients, caregivers, and family members to facilitate, restore, and maintain optimal function in areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure. The OT provides consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up while working within the hospital, client's home, and/or community. The OT establishes individualized treatment plans and goals, independently manages a busy caseload, and uses clinical judgment and decision-making skills to prioritize issues daily. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills are required. The OT provides education and support to clients, families, and caregivers, functioning as a member of an occupational therapy clinical team and a multidisciplinary hospital and/or community healthcare team.
About You- Bachelor of Science or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
- Licensure with the provincial regulatory body, the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia, is mandatory.
- BLS-C
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate education programs and interact positively with patients/clients, families, other healthcare providers, and staff
- Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness, and organizational health
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while effectively planning, organizing, and supervising
- Ability to be flexible and adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility
- Must be able to work alone or with team members in all service settings
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours- Permanent, Full-Time; 75 Hours bi-weekly
- Commencing September 2, 2024
$33.96 - $44.39 Hourly
