About This Role:

The Grocery Clerk is a vital position within our team, responsible for carrying out a wide range of duties in a professional and timely fashion. This includes providing exceptional customer service, fostering customer loyalty, and actively contributing to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Deliver outstanding customer service, meeting customer needs and exceeding expectations.
  • Inventory Management: Adhere to Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, and Health and Safety guidelines while ordering, receiving, and merchandising stock.
  • Sales Promotion: Actively promote featured products to increase store sales and drive business growth.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in the training of junior staff and collaborate with colleagues to achieve team goals.
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, ensuring a clean and presentable work area.
  • Shrink Reduction: Process department shrink and contribute to reducing losses.

Requirements:

  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to lift up to 20lbs, stand for long periods, and complete physical work including bending, lifting, and reaching.

Compensation Package:

FreshCo offers a competitive compensation package that varies by role, location, and store ownership. While exact salary estimates may differ depending on factors like work experience and location, we aim to provide fair and equitable pay for our employees. The estimated annual salary for this role is approximately $45,000 - $55,000, based on industry standards and regional conditions.
