About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Dietitian to join our One Door Chronic Disease Management Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide nutrition care and education to patients/clients with various clinical conditions requiring nutritional intervention. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering services to high-risk groups suffering from chronic diseases and/or complex multi-system diseases.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical practice guidelines, health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management. You will work closely with our Primary Health Care manager and provide services in primary care centers throughout the Pictou County area, requiring occasional travel.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Dietitian with a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and completion of a Dietetic Internship accredited by Dietitians of Canada. You will have licensure by the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association and a minimum of 3 years of recent experience working in a Primary Health Care setting/community-based team/community setting, with experience working with people living with chronic conditions.

Key qualifications include experience with individual and group education/facilitation utilizing adult education, self-management supports, and motivational enhancement principles. Designation as a Certified Diabetes Educator is preferred, and you will be willing to complete requirements for Delegated Medical Function. Experience in partnership development, stakeholder collaboration, and community development is also an asset.

Hours

This is a Permanent Part-time position, with 45 hours bi-weekly. Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $43.43 and may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
