Master Event Strategist for Philanthropy

We are seeking a seasoned Master Event Strategist to join our Philanthropy & Audiences team at the Canadian Opera Company. In this key leadership position, you will play a pivotal role in shaping exceptional event experiences that bring people together and foster engagement with the company's vibrant event spaces.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute high-quality special events that advance the company's brand and donor engagement, while achieving financial and fundraising goals as outlined in annual plans.
- Direct and manage signature and campaign events, ensuring successful solicitation of corporate partnerships and in-kind support.
- Oversee the entire event lifecycle, from concept development to execution and evaluation.
- Maintain professional standards in all interactions with executive staff, government officials, donors, and patrons.
- Liaise with external partners on sponsorship proposals, event websites, invitations, collateral materials, email promotions, signage, and speaking remarks and presentations.
- Foster strong cross-departmental relationships to drive the success of the event portfolio.
- A minimum of six years of experience in event management, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality events.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting key volunteers and managing formal event committees.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven ability to evaluate a portfolio of events and identify areas for growth and opportunity.
- Digital event proficiency, including experience managing digital events and familiarity with digital event management platforms.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Knowledge of trends and emerging practices within fundraising and events.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate after-hours events and meetings.
The target hiring range for this role is $130,000 - $140,000 per year, plus group benefits.
