Job Title: Bus Driver

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Bus Driver to join our team at the Catholic Independent Schools of Vancouver Archdiocese. As a Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting students safely and efficiently to and from school, as well as to various extracurricular activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive a bus in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students on board, including explaining basic safety procedures and maintaining order.
  • Report any incidents or accidents to the Transportation Supervisor promptly.
  • Complete basic records and reports related to inspections and student behavior.
Requirements:
  • Secondary school graduation.
  • Valid B.C. Class 2 driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Thorough knowledge of safe driving practices and safety precautions.
  • Sufficient physical strength to lift materials and equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience driving large multi-passenger vehicles.
  • Previous experience working with groups of children.
Working Conditions:

The Bus Driver will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent interactions with students, parents, and staff. The position requires a high level of physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting.

The successful candidate will be required to submit to a criminal record check and provide proof of eligibility to work in Canada.
