About the Job
First Student Canada-Transco is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious School Bus Driver to join our team in Vancouver, British Columbia. As a School Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, while also maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the bus.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a school bus safely and efficiently, following established routes and schedules.
- Ensure the bus is clean and organized, and that all necessary equipment is in good working order.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, and provide support to students with special needs.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is safe and roadworthy.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to ensure a smooth and safe transportation experience.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license for at least 2 years.
- At least 21 years old.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Pass a Ministry prescribed medical examination and background check.
What We Offer
- A competitive starting wage of $22.75-$24.75 per hour, depending on experience.
- No experience necessary - we provide training.
- 4 hours guaranteed per day.
- Additional hours available - charter route opportunities.
- No nights or weekends.
